I played Le Havre twice now and it seems like a pretty solid game. I don't think it will knock Agricola off my personal top spot, but we'll see. With the scores in the hundreds, I feel the game might benefit greatly from a scoring tracker. And the way the game plays out, it won't require much additional maintenance (it's also something to do while other players are doing their actions).
The two games I've played, I had no idea where the scores would end up.
Of course, I could add everything up each turn, because there are no hidden points in the game. All the points are in front of each player. But this can really drag out a game.
A scoring tracker like in Carcassonne or Caylus would definitely help to gauge your progress and keep things interesting.
For example, if I know a player is 20 points behind me, I might do more to block their action.
Any thoughts?
