After 40-50 games, I think I'm finally showing improvement. I was able to get a score in the high 280's last night - FINALLY! And even then I made a couple mistakes (planned for another shipment in the last round only to have no energy left to do it - DOH!). Seems like the key (and what I was doing wrong), was not racing to get ships EARLY. By getting ships early, it neutralizes all the turns I was taking for feeding, which then allowed for more shipment options. One thing though - I've seen other post that they were able to get their first ship as early as turn 2 - they must mean ROUND 2, right? Last night I made buildings early, sold them and got a ship in round 2, but turn 2 can't be right - don't believe the wooden ship even comes out until the second turn. But anywho - I was starting to get frustrated since I couldn't break 200 for the life of me, but it seems like the strategy of getting ships early and getting many of them is the way to go.
Thanks all! Loving this game! Now my only problem is that buying these board games on iOS was supposed to prevent me from wanting to buy the $50-$60 cardboard version. But I'm enjoying this game so much now I want BOTH! UGH!
