Not really, hence the question :) The fact that you can only get 1 extra of each however is mentioned specifically in the rules.
Here is what the Z-Man rules say "In the Harvest, players receive grain and cattle. A player with at least 1 grain receives 1 additional grain. A player with at least 2 cattle receives 1 additional cattle."
I've tried squinting at it, but it still seems to say "with at least 1 grain" (and not "with at least 1 grain or 1 bread") and "with at least 2 cattle" (and not "with at least 2 cattle or meat").
