As someone who has worked in manufacturing I can assure you that these products are not as cheap to produce as people think. Tools have to be made to cut out the chits and other components within a game and these can be expensive. Take into consideration all the other aspects of producing these; ink, board, adhesive, creating the box, artwork, rules to be produced, electric, wages for the staff working in the factory, the cost of boxing up the product for shipping, cost of shipping around the world it is a large process and every part costs. Add on top of this the fact that everyone has to make a profit too and you have your price. Considering what you get in the box, the price is reasonable and in line with other similar games.That all being said, just buy the game and any other game you want and ENJOY playing it. It's the experience not the cost. Also consider computer games, people don't think twice about paying the price but once you've played it you're done. At least with a boardgame for similar price you can keep playing and enjoying.
