OP, if you're unfamiliar with the game, start with the short 2P game to get a feel for it, then jump into the long 3P game.
I've tried it twice.. first time the g/f fell asleep as I set up the game (it was late though) and the other time she just gave up on it because she said there was too much to think about and we didn't fully know the rules (she hates playing something without understanding it 110% if you know what I mean). Third's the charm though (I least I hope so.. lol) and if I had to get into Takenoko without knowing how to play it, she has an moral obligation to play my games too lol.
