I appreciate the further thoughts on the matter, Grzegorz, even though I had figured those consequences out. And I personally will end up playing by the proper rule myself.I was just mostly musing on the other side of the issue just to get the ideas out of my head I suppose. Le Havre is nice in that it can accommodate some wacky variants if desired.
I concur on your points about new players. Play by the rules, kids! Don't try this at home!
