Finally would you say this game is more or less complex than Agricola/caverna. Thanks everyone
I've only played Caverna once so I'll compare Le Havre to Agricola…Complexity is kind of difficult to gauge, I'd say they're pretty comparable. Agricola adds more variety because the cards have a larger individual impact than the special buildings do Le Havre (since the cards in Agricola are personal and the special buildings in Le Havre are community - though there are definitely more questions about balance between different cards in Agricola).
What I will say is Agricola is a game of scarcity while Le Havre is more a game of abundance…there is pressure to feed your workers in Le Havre, but I definitely don't think there is near as pressure much as there is in Agricola (in specific there is a "Loan" mechanic which you can pay back - unlike beggar tiles - which you can actually build strategies around). I think that's the main determiner on whether someone prefers Le Havre or Agricola. Whether you like that pressure. I prefer a slightly "looser" game so Le Havre happens to be my favorite of Uwe Rosenberg…based off my single play of Caverna I think the food payment is much closer on the spectrum to Le Havre than it is to Agricola so I think you'll really like it.
