My friend contacted zman games a few days ago and this is what they said:

"A reprint of Le Havre is forthcoming. I do not know when the game will out the North American shore, but it should be back in stock in a few months. You can always keep an eye out on our Facebook page, that'll be the most direct way to get that information when it comes out."

I actually contacted Lookout about a month ago re: this very question. They referred me to Z-Man.

I contacted Z-Man, and have yet to receive a response. (Just as a counterpoint, In the Zev days, I contacted them after my mom's dog chewed up three unique Pandemic cards, and offered to pay whatever was required for replacements. A week later I got three free cards in the mail.)

UPDATE: Literally two minutes after posting this, I checked my e-mail and there was a response from Z-Man, to the same effect as the message above. I guess they get credit for getting it in under the arbitrary wire...

Hello i live in Israel and i really want to buy Le Havre.

where do you think they will do shipping to Israel in sane price?

It really depends on what your opinion is on a 'sane' price.

Israel is an expensive place to ship to. Sending a 2kg parcel to Israel from most European countries is going to come in around the 50 Euro mark. You have my sympathy as it is an additional cost that I never have to worry about.

Your best bet is to buyin bulk to offset the cost of package per individual game. Do you know any other local people who may wish to order some games to share the burden?

I've known of other Israelis who have reduced their costs by having parcels delivered to neighbouring countries or having people bring games when they travel. Another option is that if you have contacts with someone in a military base then you may be able to piggy back their internal postal system.

If the package stays below 2 kg (which it should with a game like Le Havre), shipping from Germany is € 15,90. So if you look through the marketplace, you might want to look out for German sellers if you cannot find a copy in Israel; from other places it might be more expensive.

I understand that - but it looks like there are files in the file section which can solve that. And when it comes to the market place, some Germans might actually offer the English version (I usually look for English versions of language dependent games myself). There is no English copy from Germany in the marketplace right now, but it can't hurt to keep your eyes open.

Sorry, I know you would be happier with an actual place in Israel who sells the game, but I cannot help with that. Good luck with the hunt in any case!

I'm always impressed at the number of gamers where English is not their first language who chose an English language edition of a game over one in their native tongue.

No need to be impressed (at least not in my case). My wife is Taiwanese. Our extended gaming crowd includes a Brazilian, an American, an Israeli, various additional Taiwanese, a Dutch, and occasionally an Italian and a Belorussian. Most have some mastery of German, but for many, English is easier. So to make everyone feel happy, I try to get English versions when it comes to language dependent stuff.

English is the language of internet so it's kind of second language to pretty much all Europe these days.

Hi!

I'm considering buying Le havre (when it's in print again) to play with my girlfriend. Would you say The inland port is better than the original game for that purpose? (I'm thinking about less set up time and lower price).

Le Havre is a much much better game. I did not care for the Inland Port at all.

I love to play Le Havre 2-player. But if you're looking to limit set-up and play time, Inland Port gives you a great option. Inland Port actually "feels" more like Ora & Labora to me than the full Le Havre game, but it is becoming the go-to game with my wife and I when we don't have a lot of time to play.
So... Play Le Havre if you have a few hours to burn, play Inland Port if you only have about a 45 minute window.

If set up time and cost are the factors, then go with inland port. They are both pretty different games. Le Havre is my favorite, but it is hard to compare the two since inland port is like ora et labora. I would say get Le Havre if you can find it at a good price. Le Havre plays best with 2 or 3 players

I'd agree that it feels more like Ora & Labora than Le Havre, but it does neither game justice. Also, there is no variability in the setup or what tiles come out so it's likely to feel samey after a few plays.
