Tea and Trade definitely adds to the (already large) decision space for
Fields of Arle. With so many options of things to do, it's impossible to do everything, yet I consistently try to...
:d10-2:
Merlin was surprisingly enjoyable. I was a bit worried that the dice limitations would restrict the game, but overall it was a lot of fun to play. That may change over lots of plays, but hopefully the extra Arthur die in the expansion will help players feel more in control of their fate. We managed to grab a copy of the game (there was only one) riiiight before we left the con, and I'm glad we got a chance to play it!
:d10-3: I was very excited to play
Nusfjord, and managed to squeeze a 5 player and a 2 player game at the con. I enjoyed the minimalist nature of the game, and the varied building setup. The "no round cleanup phase" aspect was also nice, although setup time was non-trivial. I wasn't a huge fan of the shares with two players, but Uwe definitely has my interest piqued for Reykholt.
:d10-4: Not only was this the first
Pandemic Survival tournament that my wife and I got to participate in, we managed to get first place!!!!!
:d10-5: Ah
Indian Summer. I really enjoyed the mechanism with the holes in the pieces. I really enjoyed the special animal overlays. I really enjoyed the beautiful fall colors. I did not enjoy stealing pieces from other players. I did not enjoy the obvious advantage to going last in the turn order. I did not enjoy the ridiculously large box size. Simultaneously very exciting and very disappointing.
:d10-6:
Rajas of the Ganges was having a flash sale, and I'm glad I picked this one up. I refreshing and enjoyable dice/worker placement game! I initially thought that the money / VP track was a gimmick, but there's definitely advantages to rushing down the river, up the score track, or up the money track instead of being completely balanced.
